NH Moose Hunt Lottery Deadline Tomorrow

Maine MooseCONCORD, NH — – If you haven’t submitted an application and want a chance to hunt moose in New Hampshire this fall, then you better get moving! The deadline for entering the New Hampshire moose hunt lottery is just a week away, Friday, May 31. This year, 275 lucky winners will be offered permits to participate in New Hampshire’s 2013 moose hunt, which runs from October 19 – 27. Last year’s statewide hunter success rate for moose was 64%. The National Archery in the Schools Program continues to break records

National Archery in the Schools Program NASPStudents from nearly 600 NASP schools across the United States just buried the world record they set just one year ago! Additionally, the top male archer, Jericho Vannoy from Madisonville, KY tied NASP®’s individual world record. Top teams shared the record-breaking frenzy as well. Chatsworth, Georgia’s Woodlawn Elementary School and Cadiz, Kentucky’s Trigg County High School also broke two of NASP®’s three team world records.

The 2013 NASP® National Tournament was held May 9-11 at Louisville, Kentucky’s Exposition Center. Our indoor archery range is the world’s largest at 1,350 feet because it had to accommodate the world’s largest gathering of archers at 9,426 students this year. This was larger than the number that set the Guinness World Record at last year’s NASP Nationals with 7,804 4th-12th grade student archers. [Read more…]

Maine Moose Permit Lottery Deadline

Maine MooseThe Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is reminding all hunters that the deadline to apply for the 2013 Maine Moose Permit Lottery is less than two weeks away.

Prospective moose hunters have until 11:59 p.m. on May 14 to apply for the permit lottery online. The online application can be found at www.mefishwildlife.com.

This year, 4,110 permits will be awarded, up from 3,725 permits last year. [Read more…]
