Ohio Hunters Can Purchase and Use Antlerless Deer Permits Through December 1

COLUMBUS, OH – Ohio white-tailed deer hunters can still purchase and use antlerless deer permits through Sunday, Dec. 1, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

Hunters can tag and check antlerless deer with an antlerless permit through Dec. 1. After Dec. 1, hunters must possess or purchase an either-sex deer permit to pursue bucks and does until Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014. ATA Partners with NRA’s Great American Outdoor Show

ATA - Archery Trade AssociationNEW ULM, Minn. — The Archery Trade Association is partnering with the National Rifle Association to help promote archery and bowhunting in February during the NRA’s new Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pa.

This nine-day event – scheduled for Feb. 1-9 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center – replaces the former Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show, which shut down earlier this year after its owner, Reed Exhibitions, sparked a boycott by banning AR-style rifles and high-capacity magazines at the event. Hunters Spend $292 Million in Vermont

Hunters spend $292 million annually in Vermont, including in our more rural areas, and they do so after foliage tourism ends and before skiing starts.

The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department reports that hunters contribute significantly to the state’s economy and spend more than $292 million in Vermont annually, according to a recent survey by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S. Census Bureau. [Read more…]
