Leica Geovid HD-B 10x42mm Wins Field & Stream’s Best of the Best

Leica Sport Optics is the proud recipient of Field & Stream’s “Best of the Best” award for its Leica Geovid HD-B 10x42mm laser rangefinding binoculars.

According to F&S: The first thing you notice about the new Leica Geovid HD-B rangefinder, built into 8×42 and 10×42 binoculars, is the underslung shape that takes advantage of a new prism design. This lends a banana curve to the rangefinder’s black-rubber-armored magnesium body that, along with open-bridge construction, improves the ergonomics. The display is an uncluttered red LED that is easy to read, giving target distance, angle, ambient temperature, and atmospheric pressure, in sequence. When programmed, the readings can match any ballistic load and present the proper holdover in inches, centimeters, MOAs, mils, or equivalent horizontal range. There’s even a micro-SD card for downloading customized ballistics, which you can obtain by using the online Geovid HD-B Ballistic Calculator. The optics are top Leica quality, as should be expected. At the heart of the CRF 1600-B is the innovative ABCâ„¢ (Advanced Ballistic Compensation) system, a high-precision integrated ballistics calculator that combines stored data with analysis of current ballistics parameters, and in a split second, delivers precise details of the required compensation for a point of impact (POI). The ABCâ„¢ system processes current ballistics parameters, including not only the measured distance, but also the incline, temperature and absolute air pressure to calculate projectile trajectory.
