Wyoming Outdoor Expo Goes Digital

CHEYENNE – Celebrate and learn about Wyoming’s outdoors and wildlife with the Wyoming Outdoor Expo, held May 6-8 online. This year, the Expo features livestreamed presentations and tons of ideas on how to explore nature and recreate outside. The state’s largest outdoor education event, hosted by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and numerous partners, is the official kickoff to summer, and gets kids, families and outdoor-lovers ready for the warmer weather. While the event isn’t in-person due to COVID-19 precautions, Expo promises a healthy dose of fun.

NEW ULM, Minnesota –– Bowhunters United, a national consumer-facing bowhunting organization, will launch Oct. 1 with a goal of building a strong future for current and potential bowhunters. BU will also provide space for bowhunters to share their passion with other bowhunting enthusiasts, and encourage members to become mentors, informed conservationists, better bowhunting advocates, and responsible public-land stewards.

Niedermeyer Recognized for Introducing Women to the Outdoors

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Charita Niedermeyer, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, has helped countless women get their start in the outdoors through the National Wild Turkey Federation’s Women in the Outdoors outreach program. For her efforts, the NWTF honored Niedermeyer with the Annie Oakley Award.

“I’m grateful, humbled and honored to even be nominated for this award, just for doing something I’ve loved doing,” Niedermeyer said. “I’d like to thank the Indiana NWTF State Chapter for the nomination and accept this award on behalf of my local Three Rivers Chapter, as well as all of the volunteers throughout the state of Indiana. Without my chapter committee, none of this would be possible. We all know that teamwork makes the dream work!”

Remi has worked as a hunting guide, outfitter, outdoor writer, photographer, videographer, and TV personality. As host of the television series, Apex Predator, Remi studied the uniqueness of a single animal. As co-host of Solo Hunters on the Outdoor Channel, Remi heads into the mountains and films his hunts alone, playing the role of hunter, cameraman, producer, and adventurer simultaneously. When not guiding or filming, Remi works as a field editor for Western Hunter Magazine, sharing hunting tips and tricks. You may also catch him on Joe Rogan’s podcast or episodes of MeatEater TV, hunting alongside his friend, Steven Rinella, traveling across the globe, harvesting, and preparing wild meat along the way.

West Virginia: DNR Announces Meeting Dates, Locations

West-Virginia-Division-of-Natural-ResourcesSOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources will hold 12 public meetings across the state to review and receive comments on proposed hunting, trapping and fishing regulations March 12-13 from 6-8 p.m.

Hunters, trappers, anglers, landowners and other interested parties will have an opportunity to comment on proposed 2018 hunting regulations for white-tailed deer, wild turkey, black bear and boar, proposed 2019-2020 general hunting and trapping regulations and proposed 2019 fishing regulations.
