DGIF Message to Advisory Group Members

Fellow Outdoor Supporters,

I’ve been asked to share this email with all Members who support outdoor activities in Virginia.  The communication being forwarded is from Bob Duncan, Director of VDGIF.  A basic understanding of what is being proposed and changes that may impact you on each is important.  The more we are aware of what is being proposed the better we can input the process and communicate our desires in a very proactively thoughtful manner.  It helps to know who is involved in what legislation so that we can contact the legislators directly with any particular thoughts or concerns.  This way we stay connected and assist in continuing to enjoy the best possible freedoms with the least amount of encumbrances.

Please share this with those who support outdoor activities in Virginia.

Virginia’s 857,000 hunters and anglers spend $1.3-billion annually and support 24,000 jobs.

Bob Duncan is requesting our help, and we should support him.

Dear Agency Advisory Group members:
Happy New Year and best wishes to you and your causes in the year ahead. The legislative season is upon us and we expect this session to be exciting. I invite you to visit our website and view the slate of legislation that will impact our Agency and mission. There are 20 bills at the moment and we expect the number to grow in the days ahead. By clicking on any individual bill from the list, you will learn the patron(s), see a summary and status, and be able to view the full text.

We are working hard to answer questions from legislators and will be actively engaged throughout the session. We encourage you to learn more about what is being considered and please forward this message to other interested parties that we may have missed with this email.
