Bucking Bulls Named for Elk Foundation

MISSOULA, Mont.–Two bucking bulls named for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation are debuting at Professional Bull Riders (PBR) events nationwide in 2010.

The bulls, RMEF Bugle and RMEF Elk Country, are owned by Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls, one of PBR’s top stock contractors and owner of the 2007 PBR world champion bull, Chicken on a Chain.

An avid elk hunter, conservationist and supporter of RMEF, Jeff Robinson said, “I am extremely excited about our partnership with RMEF. My family loves to hunt and RMEF is making sure everyone has that opportunity well into the future.”

If you have the desire to hunt monster bull elk in some of the most scenic country around, this is your opportunity!

The Campbell Outdoor Challenge is hosting a Muzzleloader Video Elk Challenge, Oct 9 – 14 in North Central New Mexico near Abiquiu sponsored by Outdoor Edge Knives. This will be a team (hunter/cameraman) competition with the winning team determined by the best scoring video in combination with the score of the bull elk harvested. This challenge event will air nationally on Versus and will have cash and prizes of up to $6,000 provided by Outdoor Edge Knives and The Campbell Outdoor Challenge.

Entry is limited to 10 teams only. The cost is $6,500 per team and includes meals, lodging, hunt fees and one guaranteed bull elk tag per team. After we receive your deposit we will send instructions and a voucher number for you to use to get your elk tags and license (approx. $530.00). Teams will be hunting area 6C in New Mexico, which borders the Valles Caldera National Preserve and is a great area for big bulls.

The Silverton is now the official headquarters hotel for Cowboys for Conservation as well as the first presenting sponsor of the program’s “Trophy Bulls” competition. A casino based evening. At each Built Ford Tough Series long-round event in the 2009 season, three bulls are designated by PBR as Trophy Bulls. If the rider successfully rides the bull, he gets a Trophy Bull point. If the bull bucks off the rider, the stock contractor gets the Trophy Bull point. At the end of the season, the top three point earners will receive an outdoor adventure of their choice courtesy of RMEF.
